Our Mustangs & Horses
Buddy & Amirah
Buddy and Amirah were rescued from a New Jersey kill pen. With the help of a generous donor, we were able to pull them at the last minute of the last day before they were to be shipped to slaughter. As a result of their neglect, they were extremely sick upon arrival. Through time, love, and patience both mini horses are inseparable and thriving at Unbridled.
Ruby & Rocket
Ruby was pregnant when we rescued her from a kill pen. She gave birth in the spring with all the herd watching. She is a dedicated loving mother to her baby Rocket.
Rocket makes people laugh every day. He has an enormous personality in his mini body. The rest of the herd sees him as an equal in every way, even though he can fit underneath them.
Lucy
Lucy is the newest arrival at Unbridled. She is a wild mustang that has yet to be gentled. Lucy is named after a spunky young girl who connected with Amy and the horses at Unbridled. She recently passed away due to cancer. This young girl embodied the spirit of the mustangs in her life.
Penny
Penny was rescued from a kill pen in Pennsylvania. She is the only horse that is not a mustang, she was the last horse left on the auction lot. This meant there was a high chance she was going to slaughter. Now that she is safe she is thriving in her new herd. She senses vulnerability and helps clients to feel at ease.
Shiloh
Shiloh was rounded up in Nevada and auctioned off to compete in the mustang makeover. Shiloh refused to be haltered after 45 days resulting in her withdrawal from the competition. She bounced from home to home and ended up at Unbridled. She is cautious and sensitive but once she trusts she connects fully.
Rain
Rain was born in the wild. The mustang roundup separated her from her mother. Rain found herself in New Jersey but her first family needed to rehome her. We decided to add her to our ever growing herd. She has a spunky playful personality and now she has found her forever home.
Mamore
Mamore was trained for the mustang makeover. Her trainer did an incredible job gentling her. She is named in memory of Amy's mother who passed away. Mamore has adjusted beautifully and you would never know that she had been wild for years. She is gentle and sweet with everyone she meets.
Kaia
Mustang Kaia was rescued from a Pennsylvania kill pen. Her physical abuse was evident on her face, her emotional abuse came through her eyes. We outbid the kill buyers and brought her to Unbridled as one of our first rescued mustangs. She currently connects with the clients in her own deep way.
Hope
Hope Arrived to NJ from Florida having experienced extreme neglect and abuse. She went from being scared and shut off to trusting people. She has become a very crucial part of our therapeutic program. She will forever be loved at Unbridled.
Chirpa
Chirpa is the first mustang that came to Unbridled. Chirpa is the leader of our herd. She has a gentle yet powerful energy which commands respect. The tips of her ears were frost bitten off due to the extreme cold in the Nevada mountains. Her steady calm demeaner puts clients at ease.
