Our Advocacy Work

Welcome to Our Advocacy Page

At Unbridled Heroes Project, advocacy is at the core of everything we do. We are passionately committed to championing the welfare of horses, veterans, and the environment. Our mission is rooted in ensuring that wild Mustangs and our nation’s veterans—two groups of extraordinary heroes—receive the fair and equitable treatment they deserve.

We also recognize that protecting the land we all share is vital to sustaining the well-being of people and animals alike. From defending wild Mustangs on public lands to addressing environmental issues in our own communities, we strive to make a lasting, positive impact on lives and ecosystems.

We believe that respect, compassion, and action are key to creating meaningful change. Whether through legislative efforts, educational outreach, or hands-on work, we are dedicated to standing up for these noble causes.

We invite you to join us in this vital mission. Together, we can build a future that honors and protects our veterans, our horses, and the environment we all depend on. Explore this page to learn more about our advocacy initiatives and how you can get involved.

Stopping NYC Horse Abuse

Advocacy for Change: Fighting for a Federal Ban on Carriage Horses

At the heart of our mission is a deep commitment to protecting those who cannot speak for themselves. As part of our advocacy work, we are currently focused on drafting and introducing a groundbreaking federal bill that seeks to ban the use of carriage horses in every major city across the United States.

Carriage horses are subjected to unimaginable conditions—forced to work long hours in extreme weather, navigating busy streets, and enduring constant physical strain. These majestic animals deserve better. The outdated practice of using horses for urban carriage rides not only jeopardizes their welfare but also poses significant risks to public safety and the environment.

Our proposed legislation would establish a federal ban on this practice, ensuring that no city, no matter how large or small, continues this inhumane tradition. By addressing this issue at the federal level, we aim to create consistent protections for horses and encourage cities to adopt more humane, modern alternatives.

We are working tirelessly with lawmakers, advocacy groups, and compassionate individuals to finalize this bill and hope to have it introduced soon. Together, we can put an end to this cruelty and ensure a brighter future for these beautiful, hardworking animals.

Join us in this critical effort—your voice and support can help us make history. Stay tuned for updates as we continue this fight for justice.

Support Healing

Advocating for Veterans: The American Wild Lands and Veterans Act

At Unbridled Heroes Project, we are committed to providing real, meaningful solutions to the challenges faced by our veterans. In the coming months, we will introduce the American Wild Lands and Veterans Act at the federal level. This groundbreaking legislation is designed to address two critical issues: protecting our nation’s wild lands and providing alternative, nature-based solutions to help curb the alarming rise in veteran suicides.

The statistics are devastating. Recent data from Operation Deep Dive reveals that the suicide rate among veterans has risen from 22 to 43 per day—a tragic and unacceptable reality. Despite increased funding for veteran services through the VA, these resources are not being allocated in ways that truly benefit our heroes. The current system is failing, and it’s time for a new approach.

Our proposed legislation will focus on the transformative power of nature and the healing connection between humans and the land. By integrating protected wild spaces into veteran support programs, we aim to provide an alternative path to healing—one that promotes mental well-being, physical activity, and a renewed sense of purpose.

We believe that this act will not only save lives but also honor the sacrifices made by our brothers and sisters in uniform. Veterans deserve access to programs that truly support their transition into civilian life, protect their mental health, and restore their connection to the country they served.

The American Wild Lands and Veterans Act is more than legislation; it’s a call to action. Together, we can create a future where our veterans thrive, and the land they defended is preserved for generations to come. Stay tuned for updates as we work to introduce this critical bill and advocate for the changes our heroes deserve.

Wild Horse Roundups

Advocating for America’s Wild Mustangs

The wild Mustang is more than an animal—it is a living symbol of America’s freedom, strength, and resilience. Yet, these majestic creatures are being used as pawns in a ruthless game of greed, power, and money. At Unbridled Heroes Project, we firmly believe that the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has abandoned its duty to protect these icons of the American West. Instead, they are catering to big cattle ranching corporations, such as Cattoor Livestock Roundup Company, which prioritize profits over preservation.

Every year, thousands of wild Mustangs are rounded up, displaced from their natural habitats, and stripped of their freedom—all to make room for corporate cattle grazing. These roundups are brutal, inhumane, and unnecessary, fueled by a system that values short-term financial gain over the long-term health of our land and its wildlife.

We refuse to stand by as America’s wild horses are sold out and sacrificed. That’s why we are working to introduce a transformative bill that combines three critical pillars: veterans, the land they fought to protect, and the Mustangs that symbolize the spirit of this country.

This legislation aims to:

    •    Protect the land from overgrazing and corporate exploitation, preserving it for future generations.

    •    Support veterans by creating programs that connect them with the healing power of nature and the Mustangs.

    •    Ensure the survival of wild Mustangs by ending unnecessary roundups and promoting sustainable solutions for land management.

The connection between veterans, the land, and Mustangs is profound. Veterans defended this country, its people, and its landscapes. Mustangs represent the freedom and resilience they fought for. Together, they offer a path toward healing and renewal—for the animals, the land, and the heroes who served.

At Unbridled Heroes Project, we are determined to challenge the status quo, expose the corruption behind these roundups, and fight for justice. It’s time to put an end to the exploitation of our wild Mustangs and preserve their rightful place on America’s public lands. Join us in this fight to protect these symbols of freedom and the land they call home.

Advocating for Local Environmental Issues

At Unbridled Heroes Project, we are not just focused on national advocacy—we are deeply committed to addressing environmental concerns right here in our local community. We believe that protecting the environment begins at home, and we are here to amplify the voices of residents who are too often ignored.

Currently, we are working closely with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to address several pressing issues in Ridgewood Village that have been overlooked by our mayor and council. These concerns, which include the pollution of local rivers and the environmental impact of poorly planned infrastructure projects, highlight a critical need for accountability and action at the local level.

We are dedicated to ensuring that these issues are brought to light and that meaningful solutions are implemented to protect our community, our natural resources, and future generations. If you have an environmental concern in Ridgewood or beyond, we want to hear from you. Together, we can push for change and hold decision-makers accountable for their responsibilities.

Unbridled Heroes is here to stand with our neighbors in the fight for a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable future. Let’s make our voices heard.
